Live session "Hate Speech" online course
Event Information
“Hate Speech” is part of a series of online courses on digital citizenship education developed in close co-operation with the European Wergeland Centre.
The course explores the following questions:
- What is hate speech?
- What are the legal, personal and public implications of hate speech?
- How to address hate speech at school?
Through this online course, educators will have the opportunity to work together with fellow professionals on real-life examples of teaching and learning, unveiling a threat of hate speech that undermines social inclusion, diversity and human rights and causes personal distress, or even violence. The course will support educators in planning learning experiences addressing hate speech that will engage and empower students to become active citizens in a world dominated by digital technology.
