On November 26, Ministers of Education of States parties to the European Cultural Convention gathered in Paris at the invitation of the French Presidency of the Committee of Ministers. The French Minister of National Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, welcomed participants (French only) by outlining the themes of the conference.
In her speech, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić, underlined the vital importance of education to building and maintain open, tolerant societies.
The Ministerial Conference adopted a declaration on Citizenship in the digital age, which complements the Recommendation adopted by the Committee of Ministers’ Deputies on November 21.
23 countries indicated their commitment to establishing a new Partial Agreement to create an Observatory on history teaching in Europe and adopted a declaration.
