Quality education for all – more than 150 educators successfully completed training for trainers during the second peer learning event

Representatives from 59 selected schools further developed their training skills from 16 to 20 May. The training, organised as part of the Quality еducation for аll action in Serbia, helped educators to further strengthen their skills as trainers. Representative of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development welcomed the participants and thanked them for the efforts they have put into fostering a democratic culture in schools.

During the event, participants worked with Council of Europe trainers to learn how to prepare for training, how to plan it, how to prepare necessary materials and how to deliver the training. 39 schools together with their mentor schools, who are trained trainers on competences for democratic culture (CDC), created a training plan on CDC that schools can deliver to their colleagues on their return.

After this training, it is possible to design a training during which other colleagues would get acquainted with the Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture (RFCDC) and learn how to implement it in the teaching process” or “the ideas we received are inspiring and sufficient to produce new ones that can be upgraded or adapted and implemented in any school. Some of the activities we organised are the product of exchanging ideas during the previous Peer learning” are examples of the type of remarks participants shared with the team.

Besides learning training skills in the context of RFCDC, schools worked on their actions plans for developing and promoting their chosen competences for democratic culture until the end of 2022/23 school year. Another important aspect of peer learning event is the exchange of experience and ideas about developing competences for democratic culture through the whole school approach.

The action Quality education for all is implemented under the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022".
