The Recommendation on developing and promoting digital citizenship education is now available in Georgian. The translation, carried out by the Georgian National Centre for Teacher Professional Development, was presented by Natia Natsvlishvili, Member of the Council of Europe Steering Committee on Education and its Bureau, during the eTwinning 2024 Annual Conference that took place on 15 December 2024 in Tbilisi.
On that occasion, over 120 participants gathered to discuss and share experiences and knowledge on school well-being, digital transformation and digital citizenship including teachers, education experts and representatives from international organisations. In addition to the Recommendation, the Council of Europe’s Education Strategy 2030 and the European Year of Digital Citizenship Education 2025 were also presented during the conference.
The Recommendation highlights the importance of prioritising digital citizenship education and calls all member states of the Council of Europe to review their legislation, policies and practices by involving all relevant stakeholders in the process. The recommendation also encourages co-operation among the public, private and civil sectors and between the Council of Europe and different intergovernmental organisations.
