Four of the authors who contributed to the new Council of Europe book on the Higher Education response to the COVID-19 pandemic: Building a more sustainable and democratic future presented the book at a webinar organized by the International Association of Universities on March 16.
Ligia Deca, Education Advisor to the President of Romania; Barnabas Nawangwe, Vice Chancellor of Makerere University (Uganda); Paul Pribbenow, President of Augsburg University in Minneapolis (USA); and Naoto Yoshikawa, Vice Chancellor for Global Initiatives, Tokai University (Japan) participated in a talk show style debate moderated by the Head of the Council of Europe’s Education Department, Sjur Bergan, and then responded to questions from participants in a session moderated by Hilligje van’t Land, Secretary General of the IAU.
Ira Harkavy, Associate Vice President and Founding Director, Barbara and Edward Netter Center for Community Partnerships, University of Pennsylvania and Chair of the International Consortium for Higher Education, Civic Responsibility, and Democracy offered the concluding remarks.
