What is the objective of the project?

The project aims to enhance the system for the prevention and protection of children from cyber and other forms of bullying, and peer violence in Montenegro schools. 

The project will:  

  • Support education policy makers, institutions, and professionals to apply in practice the existing policy framework to prevent cyber and other forms of bullying and peer violence in schools. 
  • Foster collaboration, capacity building, and policy development to effectively combat violence in schools and promote a safe school environment. 

What are the key results?

  • Policies for the prevention of bullying and peer violence, including cyberbullying, are introduced and streamlined.
  • Education professionals in Montenegro effectively apply strategic and policy frameworks for the prevention of cyber and other forms of bullying, and peer violence in schools.

How this will be achieved?

  • Conducting a national assessment of safety in schools and the wellbeing of students;
  • Conducting a national study on cyberbullying and other forms of online violence in schools;
  • Creating policy recommendations on how to improve the safe school environment, developed through a participatory and consultative process involving major stakeholders;
  • Developing guidance designed to equip education stakeholders with practical instructions, tools, and resources necessary for the successful implementation of the policies addressing bullying and peer violence in schools;
  • Supporting co-ordination between key stakeholders involved in the implementation of anti-bullying policies.

Project information

The project “Prevent bullying and violence in schools in Montenegro” is implemented by the Council of Europe and funded by Germany and will run from December 2024 to December 2026, with a budget of 500 000 EUR.
