For the first time in the Moldovan election history, a joint briefing, dedicated to the regional elections set for 30th April 2023, was delivered by the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova (CEC) together with the Central Electoral Council of the Autonomous Unit of Gagauzia (CECG) for international accredited observers.
Over 40 of the 75 accredited international electoral observers took part in this event, and benefited from the electoral authorities (CEC and CECG) recommendations and guidelines concerning the specificity of monitoring of the elections for the Governor (Bashkan) of ATU Gagauzia and partial elections for the People’s Assembly of ATU Gagauzia.
This event was organised within the framework of the CoE Project “Improving Electoral Practice in the Republic of Moldova, Phase III” in co-operation with the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova and the Central Electoral Council of Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauzia.
