ICTs use for public awareness raising and educational strategies has become mainstreamed during the recent years. A combined use of ICTs and human interactions enhaces audience exposure to different thematic messages. Today, when COVID-preventive measures being taken by the governements all over the world, digital platforms for education is among the hottest new trends.
Upon the request of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine, the Council of Europe* launched the development of respective digital educational platform on elections in Ukraine. The digital awareness raising tool will be targeted primarily at first-time voters, students, political contestants, but also at various electoral stakeholders, and voters in general. Currently, more than 20 experts and consultants are involved into the development of this tool.
It is expected that such digital platform, if launched on the eve of 2020 local elections in Ukraine, will be of great importance. Particularly, it should increase the public awareness about the new electoral systems and rules having been introduced by the Electoral Code of Ukraine adopted in December 2019.
*The expert, methodological and technical support is provided within the framework of the Council of Europe project “Supporting the transparency, inclusiveness and integrity of electoral practice in Ukraine”, implemented within the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine 2018 – 2021.
