Young voters informed and prepared ahead of the 5 November 2023 elections

About 110 students aged of 18-25 years participated in the Democracy coffee information sessions organised during September - October 2023 in four educations institutions of the country (municipalities of Chisinau, Balti, Leova and Ustia). The aim was to encourage the participation of young people, particularly first-time voters, in electoral campaign and get them familiarised with electoral rules ahead of the 5 November general local elections.

The info sessions were delivered by Council of Europe consultants who used the standards and methods from the Council of Europe toolkit Vote Outside the Box.

To make a difference in the long term, it was essential that young people were engaged in promoting behaviour model of active young voters through taking and posting photos, pictures, storytelling on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts of the National Youth Council of Moldova and the Centre for Continuous Electoral Training.

This activity was undertaken by the Council of Europe Project Improving Electoral Practice in the Republic of Moldova, Phase III in partnership with the Centre for Continuous Electoral Training and the National Youth Council from Moldova.
