The 8th Plenary Meeting of the Council of Europe Platform on Ethics, Transparency, and Integrity in Education (ETINED) takes place on 26-27 November at the Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi in Rome. Held in a hybrid format and organised in collaboration with CIMEA, the event brings together delegates, observers, and experts from across Europe to address critical challenges in integrity and transparency in education.
Key discussions focus on tackling education fraud, advancing the implementation of the Learners First 2030 strategy, and promoting international cooperation in safeguarding academic integrity. Participants explore ground-breaking initiatives, including the Centre for Preventing and Countering Education Fraud and the development of an Institutional Integrity Labelling Scheme for educational institutions.
Highlights include presentations on the financial and psychological impact of education fraud, the importance of trust in education systems, and strategies to increase transparency through open school data. Breakout sessions allow participants to delve deeper into these topics and generate recommendations for future ETINED activities.
The meeting will conclude with a roadmap outlining priorities for 2025, including the continued implementation of the Recommendation on Countering Education Fraud, a stronger focus on transparency, and increased visibility of the ETINED platform.
