The EUR-OPA Major Hazards Agreement participated in a workshop, organised by the State Fire and Rescue Service of Latvia, on the needs of persons with disabilities related to disasters. The workshop brought together representatives from all the Member States of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, the European Commission, the European Parliament, the General Secretariat of the Council, the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR), the European Disability Forum, the NGO sector in Latvia as well as international experts from Latin America, North America, Asia and Europe.
