1960 - Aarhus

The town AarhusAarhus, lying in the Danish province of Jutland on the Kattegat strait, is the country’s second city. Aarhus is known as a young and dynamic town, industrial, commercial and cultural.

The Aarhus Festival held each year in the first half of September incorporates over 300 kinds of activities ranging from opera performances to street entertainments. It is one of Northern Europe’s biggest cultural events. Aarhus is twinned with Bergen (Norway), Gothenburg (Sweden), Pernik (Bulgaria), Rostock (Germany) and Turku (Finland).
