2011 - Landerneau

The Landerneau townThe town of Landerneau (Finistère) has a long history.  Its medieval heritage is reflected in half-timbered houses with slate roofs.  The house-lined bridge is the jewel in its crown.  The buildings in every street are richly steeped in history.

Landerneau has been twinned with the town of Hünfeld in Germany (joint winner) for over 40 years, and the two towns have developed ties between people from all levels of society.  It is also twinned with Caernarfon, a medieval town in north Wales, and has ties with Mioveni (Romania).
