The Nuremberg townNuremberg stands in the district of the same name in Bavaria.  Its charm as a picturesque medieval city combined with economic, industrial and technological modernity mean that it is one of Germany’s leading cultural metropolises.  Bavaria’s second-largest city after Munich has developed 14 twinnings throughout the world, nine of them in Europe, supported by 10 twinning committees and also by numerous associations and volunteers. Nuremberg organises many conferences and exhibitions, and the great importance it attaches to all that concerns human rights is reflected in the International Human Rights Prize which it awards every two years.  It also hosts cultural events like International Organ Week and the World Music Festival.
