Today, 10 April, Vesna Crnić-Grotić, member in respect of Croatia and former Chair of the Committee of Experts of the Charter for Regional or Minority Languages of the Council of Europe and Elise Cornu, Executive Secretary of the Charter addressed the Symposium entitled “Audible and Visible”, organised in Hilversum (the Netherlands) by the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations of the Netherlands.
The Symposium aims at facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experiences regarding the recognised regional and minority languages by Netherlands under the Charter, as well as the Dutch sign language.
Participants in the Symposium include representatives of minority language speakers, authorities at all levels, and representatives of relevant ministries. A specific workshop is dedicated to discussing the effective implementation of the recommendations outlined in the seventh evaluation report on the Netherlands by the Committee of Experts of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages.
