The awareness-raising project, co-organised by the EU delegation to the Council of Europe and the Permanent Representations of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, was launched this month on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Council of Europe. With a slideshow of selected portraits presented each week on social media, it honours women who have contributed to the Organisation’s goal throughout history: upholding democracy, human Rights and the rule of law across Europe and beyond.
This week, the portrait of Vesna Crnić-Grotić, former Chair and current member of the Committee of Experts of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages, is presented and her remarkable contribution to the monitoring process of the Charter and the work of its Committee of Experts put forward.
