Aline Kunz is a postdoc assistant in Italian linguistics at the University of Bern (Switzerland) where she is engaged in teaching and research. In her research, she focuses on aspects concerning Italian (Italian in Switzerland, new Italian migration to Switzerland, perception of regional accents, Italian as a heritage language and L2) but also, more generally, on linguistic minorities, linguistic geography and plain language. 

She also conducts intensive research on the topic of medical communication and health literacy, dealing with the comprehensibility and understandability of medical texts and their translation into minority languages.
