The Governmental Committee* of the European Social Charter and the European Code of Social Security (‘Governmental Committee’) will hold its 140th meeting from 16 to 20 September 2019 in Strasbourg.
The Governmental Committee will hold an exchange of views on the 2018 findings of the European Committee of Social Rights on the follow-up to decisions in collective complaints. In addition, it will discuss certain situations of non-conformity and follow-up measures taken by the States Parties with respect to Conclusions XXI-3 (2018) of the 1961 Charter and Conclusions 2018 of the European Social Charter relating to thematic group 3 “Labour rights”.
A debate on the reform of the monitoring and reporting procedure of the European Social Charter will also be held, based on the 2nd CDDH report identifying good practices and making proposals with a view to improving the implementation of social rights in Europe and in light of CM decisions of 10 July 2019.
An up-dated list of INGOs entitled to submit collective complaints will also be submitted to the Governmental Committee with a view to its adoption.
* The Governmental Committee is composed of Representatives of the States Parties which ratified either the European Social Charter or the European Code of Social Security.
