The European Committee of Social Rights is holding its 334th session from 22 to 26 May 2022, in Strasbourg. During this session the newly elected member of the Committee, Alla FEDOROVA (Ukrainian), will be sworn in.
The Committee will examine state reports* and also deliberate on a number of collective complaints.
Collective complaints procedure
The Committee will take stock of the situation related to the procedure provided for by Article 22 of the European Social Charter on “non-accepted provisions”. The countries concerned by this exercise 2023 are Bosnia and Herzegovina, Latvia, Sweden (Revised Charter), Croatia, Czech republic, Denmark and Iceland (1961 Charter). It will also examine a draft report in respect of Albania with a view to its adoption.
Among other issues, the Committee will continue preparations for the ad hoc reports to be requested from the States Parties and will also resume discussion on strengthening the Council of Europe’s social rights framework in the light of the Reykjavik Summit.
