Seminar on international levers and local implementation of active ageing rights

The University of Turin is organising a seminar on international levers and local implementation of active ageing rights on 8 November 2023 in Turin (Italy). The seminar is part of the project on the same topic, funded by the University of Turin. The objective of the seminar is to present and critically reflect on the findings of the project, as well as discuss the prospect of future collaborations on the topic of active ageing.

The seminar will bring together academics from the University of Turin (Italy), the University of Pau et Pays de l'Adour (France), as well as representatives and officials of local authorities from France and Italy. The Council of Europe will be represented by Tatiana Puiu, Vice-President of the European Committee of Social Rights. She will present the relevant case law of the European Committee of Social Rights and the role of the European Social Charter as a Council of Europe human rights treaty, which defines the rights related to active aging and provides local authorities with a tool for implementation of these rights.
