Seminar on the submission of national reports on the implementation of the European Social Charter’s provisions in Ukraine

In the framework of the Council of Europe project "Enhanced social protection in Ukraine", a hybrid seminar on the preparation of quality statutory reports to the European Committee of Social Rights in the light of the recent reforms of the European Social Charter was organised on 31 October 2024. The event was attended by representatives of 14 Ukrainian national authorities involved in the collection of data for the preparation of statutory reports.

Monika Smusz-Kulesza, international expert from the Council of Europe, presented a manual with practical recommendations for the preparation of national reports on the accepted provisions of the Charter following the reform of 2022, and outlined key aspects of the reform and its implications for Ukraine.

Alla Fedorova, member of the European Committee of Social Rights, chaired an in-depth session on the specifics of reporting under the Charter's first thematic group, which focuses on labour rights. She introduced the Committee's questionnaire, shared best practices for reporting on each of the Charter's articles and discussed the Committee's recent conclusions on Ukraine.

The aim of the seminar was to help national authorities better understand and put into practice the new procedure for submitting reports to the ECSR.

The event was organised within the framework of the Council of Europe project "Enhanced social protection in Ukraine" in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.
