Background information and introduction
Established in 1972, the European Youth Foundation (EYF) is an institution and a financial instrument of the Council of Europe’s youth sector. It provides financial support to local, national and international non-governmental youth organisations and networks for their local, national and international youth projects. The EYF is more than just a donor. It is a partner to youth organisations, supporting the exchange of good practices and high quality of youth projects.
The European Youth Centre in Budapest is a tool of the Youth Department of the Council of Europe to implement its youth programme. It is a residential training centre and has also a central role in promoting the youth sector of the Council of Europe at local level.
On 6 and 7 December 2022, the EYF, in collaboration with the European Youth Centre Budapest, is organising an information and training session for youth non-governmental organisations in Hungary. The session will:
- create a space for participants to familiarise themselves with the Council of Europe’s youth sector priorities, educational tools, and grant programmes
- allow participants to share information on their work, their challenges and needs
- encourage participants to explore further cooperation with the Council of Europe’s youth sector.
Participant profiles
If you are member of a youth NGO based in Hungary, active at local or national level, this invitation is for you! We are looking for 20 people who:
- Are aged between 18 and 30 (some exceptions for 30+ will be possible).
- Are engaged in youth projects: writing applications, implementing, reporting on projects, or educational work
- Work with and support young people and youth organisations.
To apply for funding at the EYF, your organisation should be youth-led. You can read more about the EYF’s eligibility criteria on our website.
The main working language of the session will be English. Participants who are not fluent in English are also encouraged to apply. Depending on the needs of applicants, parts of the session will be delivered in Hungarian.
