The European Youth Foundation is visiting projects it is supporting and run by non-governmental youth organisations.

Through the visits the Foundation expects to increase the visibility of the EYF and the Council of Europe; give feedback to the Programming Committee on Youth (more about the Committee); establish contact with youth NGOs; get to know NGOs and the work they do.

Visited projects are organised by non-governmental youth organisations (NGOs) which are registered with the Foundation and received a grant. (More information on the application process).

Back Visit to the project "Beyond Boundaries: the Realities of LGBTQI+ Ukrainian Refugees" of the International Falcon Movement Socialist Educational International (IFM-SEI)

Visit to the project

From 16 to 19 August, the EYF visited the international project "Beyond Boundaries: the Realities of LGBTQI+ Ukrainian Refugees" of the International Falcon Movement Socialist Educational International (IFM-SEI). Funded by the EYF and hosted by the Kurt Löwenstein Education Centre near Berlin, the activity brought together young people from Ukraine, living in Ukraine or as refugees in Austria, Slovenia, Belgium and Germany, as well as participants from other countries and IFM-SEI member organisations. The interactive and engaging activity aimed to increase young people's understanding and knowledge of the social, economic and political realities facing Ukrainian LGBTQI+ youth and refugees. IFM-SEI and the trainers worked with the participants to empower them to join an international network of young people, act as multipliers to raise awareness of the risks and realities faced by LGBTQI+ Ukrainian youth and promote solidarity.

Péter Török, member of the  Advisory Council on Youth, informed the participants about the work of the Council of Europe's youth sector, highlighting relevant programmes, tools and recommendations of the Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers and encouraging cooperation.

The project "Beyond Boundaries: the Realities of LGBTQI+ Ukrainian Refugees" is funded by the EYF in the framework of the special call for projects for young people affected by the war in Ukraine and implemented by IFM-SEI in partnership with the Kurt Löwenstein Education Centre and the SD Platform (Ukraine). It is one of the three international projects implemented in 2024 within the framework of the EYF Special Call Ukraine.
