Training for Turkish lawyers on the supervision of the execution of the European Court’s judgments

On 23 January, in cooperation with the Turkish Bar Association, the Department for the Execution of Judgments held the first session in a series of webinar training sessions for members of various local bar associations in Türkiye. The first session was attended by 60 lawyers from the Sinop, Rize, and Trabzon bar associations.

The training focused on the supervision process for the execution of the European Court’s judgments and good practices regarding the submission of communications under Rule 9.1 of the Rules of the Committee of Ministers for the supervision of the execution of judgments and of the terms of friendly settlements.

The series is scheduled to continue at regular intervals, involving lawyers from all bar associations in Türkiye. Through these training sessions, the Department aims to enhance the visibility of the execution process of the Court’s judgments among practising lawyers in Türkiye and highlight the importance of Rule 9.1 submissions.
