The Bureau of the Steering Committee on Media and Information Society (CDMSI) held its 14th meeting in Strasbourg from 16 to 17 October. This meeting was the second one under the new CDMSI mandate for the 2018-2019 biennium.
The main topics of the agenda were, inter alia, the progress made by the two experts committees, the Committee of experts on quality journalism in the digital age (MSI-JOQ) and the Committee of experts on Human Rights Dimensions of automated data processing and different forms of artificial intelligence (MSI-AUT), with their respective deliverables; steps taken in relation to a future conference of ministers responsible for media and information society; and the publication of a strategy to foster the implementation of CM Recommendation (2016)4 on the protection of journalism and safety of journalists and other media actors.
