Since 2015, the Police Authority has been working more specifically to combat hate crimes and other crimes that threaten democracy, including crimes against journalists. Specialized teams working on democracy and hate crimes have been created in three regions, with the main tasks of improving specific related knowledge and skills and working full-time on criminal investigation, crime prevention and confidence building, as well as to improve specific knowledge and skills. In other regions, police forces have investigators and investigation managers specifically designated to deal with hate crimes.
