TC/Inf Breakfasts
Freedom of expression on the internet and internet governance play a growing role in an ever wider range of topics under the Council of Europe remits. As a consequence, they have always more impact on decisions adopted by representatives of member states.
The Thematic co-ordinator on Information Policy of the Committee of Ministers (TC/Inf), Ambassador Dirk Van Eeckhout, has launched a series of thematic meetings – TC/Inf breakfast meetings – during which his colleagues have opportunity, once a month, to meet a specialised expert and discuss specific issues.
Three TC/Inf breakfast meetings were devoted to internet governance general issues, internet freedom & protection of journalism and cybercrime – cloud evidence. The next programmed TC/Inf breakfast meetings will be on Comparative study on blocking and filtering of internet content and internet in co -operation programmes.
