Law enforcement plays a key role in addressing violence against women and domestic violence, and stopping it from happening again. With this crucial responsibility in mind, the online course, "Violence against women and domestic violence for law enforcement " was launched by the Council of Europe in 2022 for police. In the context of the war in Ukraine and in view of the urgent need to enhance the knowledge and capacities of Ukrainian law enforcement professionals in this field, the course has been translated into Ukrainian and is now available for free online.
The course consists of 3 modules and can be completed in approximately 6 hours. A Course Brief in Ukrainian is available on the Council of Europe’s website and the course itself can be accessed through the Council of Europe HELP online platform. Upon successful completion of this course, a HELP statement of accomplishment (a document attesting to the successful course completion) can be generated in an electronic format and may be printed by the user.
The course was piloted in July 2023 for 20 police officers and ministry officials.
All activities took place under the Council of Europe project “Combating violence against women in Ukraine – Phase II” (COVAW-II)
