Promising practices on implementing the Istanbul Convention discussed in Ukraine

340 civil servants from regional offices of the National Social Service of Ukraine participated in a webinar on the publication “After ratification: promising practices on implementation of the Istanbul Convention” on 23 May 2024.

In the publication, the Council of Europe:

  • examines common challenges and areas of promising practice in countries implementing the Istanbul Convention
  • provides practical and replicable examples illustrating approaches to advance the four main priorities of the Istanbul Convention (prevention of violence, protection of victims, prosecution of perpetrators and co-ordinated policies to end violence against women)
  • delivers a resource for a wide audience, including national institutions and non-governmental organisations involved in preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence. It is also useful for policy makers, as well as professionals working in the field of violence against women and domestic violence

The event was organised as part of the Council of Europe project “Combating violence against women in Ukraine – Phase II” (COVAW-II).
