The purpose of the study “Electronic monitoring in interpersonal violence cases: standards, principles and state practices” is to share the experiences of various countries that have already implemented electronic monitoring systems for perpetrators of domestic violence. While electronic monitoring is commonly used in probation or as an alternative to detention following a sentence, this research looks into its specific application concerning emergency barring orders, protection orders, and restraining orders in cases of domestic violence.
By examining international experiences, the study aims to support the development of national regulations and policies in Armenia to address domestic violence cases more effectively.
The study was prepared by the Council of Europe international consultant Louise Hooper and available in Armenian and English. It was conducted under the framework of the Council of Europe project “Ending violence against women and promoting gender equality in Armenia” at the request of the Armenian police.
