On 29 January 2025, the National Agency for the Prevention and Combating of Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence, with support from the Council of Europe, held a thematic workshop on the Istanbul Convention pillars of Coordinated Policies and Prosecution .
45 representatives from key national authorities—Ministries of Labour and Social Protection, Internal Affairs, Justice, Education and Research, and Health—along with NGOs, joined the event. The Agency introduced a new regulation on the organisation and functioning of thematic groups.
The workshop focused on strengthening multi-agency cooperation to support victims of violence against women and domestic violence. Participants reviewed achievements and challenges in implementing the National Programme on Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence (2023–2027).
This event is part of the Council of Europe project Supporting the implementation of the Istanbul Convention in the Republic of Moldova – phase II which strengthens national efforts to prevent and combat violence against women.
