The GEC Bureau is composed of the GEC Chair, the Vice-Chair, and a third Bureau member. In line with CM/Res(2021)3, their respective mandates are for durations allowing for partial renewal of the Bureau membership.
The role of the GEC Bureau and its members is to prepare the GEC plenary meetings, to respond to the requests of the various bodies and sectors of the Council of Europe in relation to gender equality issues, and to represent the GEC in various events, in co-ordination with the GEC Secretariat. GEC Bureau meetings are relatively brief and usually held online, before and after GEC plenary sessions and additionally, as needed and agreed by the Bureau members.
