Congratulations Ukraine! The Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention) entered into force on 1 November 2022, after approval by the Ukrainian Parliament on 20 June 2022 and ratification on 18 July 2022. 37 countries have ratified this major human rights treaty establishing comprehensive legal standards to prevent and combat violence against women.
