European Rendez-vous in Gardens 2022: Gardens facing climate change

This 2022 edition of the Rendez-vous aux jardins, held on Friday 3 (day reserved for schoolchildren), Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 June 2022, was dedicated to the theme “Gardens facing climate change" and, as in the past two editions, included the participation of many European countries (more than 20 countries already committed).

The effects of climate change on parks and gardens have been observed for many years. The findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) are alarming at the global level. This study day proposes to share observations and reflections on the consequences of climate change on gardens in France and Europe: mutation of the seasons, new pests, changes in the plant palette, changes in gardening practices and their temporality, evolution of the way we look at parks and gardens,  etc. These findings will be placed in their historical, geographical and meteorological context and put into perspective with the current situation.
