Each participating HEREIN country is represented by a National HEREIN Coordinator, generally a governmental expert in cultural heritage appointed by the competent national Ministry.

They constitute a permanent international forum of discussion on international practices in the field of Cultural Heritage and are in charge, among other things, of preparing the HEREIN country profile and national report, based on information collected among resource persons in all ministries and cultural heritage entities as well as additional experts in the field.
