Online Consultation with representatives from HE Institutions to Advance Automatic Recognition of Qualifications

On the 15th of March, the Council of Europe, in collaboration with EURASHE and EUA, hosted an online consultation gathering representatives from higher education institutions across its member states, counting over 250 participants. The primary focus of this consultation was to delve into the perspectives and approaches regarding automatic recognition of qualifications. With the aim of better informing the development of a legal text, the Council sought to analyse the responses gathered through a preliminary questionnaire, for which nearly 500 responses have been received.

By engaging directly with representatives from higher education institutions, the Council of Europe aimed to harness their diverse experiences and insights. This collaborative effort is pivotal in shaping a robust legal text that addresses the complexities and nuances of automatic recognition within the European educational landscape.

The consultation demonstrated that there exists a wealth of perspectives and experiences among higher education institutions regarding automatic recognition. This diversity of input will undoubtedly enrich the ongoing efforts to streamline and enhance the recognition process, ultimately benefiting students, educators, and academic institutions across the Council of Europe's member states.
