The second COMPASS Training course for Trainers in Human Rights Education with Young People takes place from 6 to 10 November 2023 in Brzeće, Serbia.
Over the five-day period, 24 youth leaders, multipliers and youth workers will be developing competencies to act as trainers or multipliers for human rights education with young people in Serbia. The participants will learn how to make use of the COMPASS manual, to design and implement human rights education activities in line with the quality standards of the Council of Europe, to advocate for human rights education and promote human rights education at a national and local level.
The training course follows the publication of the Serbian language version of the COMPASS Manual in June 2023, and contributes to capacity building of youth workers and multipliers to better provide and introduce human rights education in youth projects and activities and the implementation of the Council of Europe Charter on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education.
The second COMPASS Training for Trainers is a part of the wider framework aimed to restore and renew the commitment of youth organisations and other competent (educational) institutions in Serbia to EDC/HRE, prepare them to multiply HRE approaches and standards, and support the quality and sustainability of training activities for human rights education at the national and local level. The first training course took place in October 2023.
The course is organised within the projects “Citizenship and human rights education with young people in Serbia“, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium and the Council of Europe and the “Youth campaign for revitalising democracy”.
