Youth workers, youth leaders, human rights activists, teachers, and other practitioners in the fields of youth and non-formal education in Italy are invited to apply for the Compass National Training Course “Empowering young leaders for more sustainable and inclusive communities.”
The training course is organized by ALDA – European Association for Local Democracy in cooperation with the Youth Department of the Council of Europe and will be held from 10 to 13 October in Vicenza, Italy.
Objectives:
- to strengthen participants’ competences on principles, methods and practices for human rights and human rights education in their respective contexts
- to explore interrelations between human rights, participation, active citizenship, right to education, equal opportunities, environmental rights, though non-formal and experiential learning
- to improve participants’ competences in creating connections with relevant stakeholders, professionals and associations
- to develop participants’ capacity to use innovative tools and methods to engage young people in their contexts and local communities,
- to raise the awareness of young people on the importance of democratic participation and human rights and their role as active citizens to build more democratic, sustainable, and inclusive communities.
The training course is designed for participants who are:
- aged over 18 years
- based in Italy
- involved in human rights education activities and programs in Italy
- fluent in Italian language
- with some experience in human rights education
- with some experience in training and non-formal education
- motivated to implement human rights education activities in their local contests
- able to attend the whole duration of the training course.
