The Drafting Group on Human Rights and Artificial Intelligence (CDDH-IA) held its third meeting from 4-6 February 2025 in Strasbourg.
During this meeting, the group reviewed draft texts for the Handbook on Human Rights and Artificial Intelligence, which included the introduction and sections on general issues, business and human rights, administration of justice, healthcare, and social services.
The Group also exchanged views with external experts and representatives of the Criminal Justice Division of the Council of Europe, the Steering Committee for Education (CDEDU), the Workplace Relations Commission of Ireland, and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). These discussions focused on the impact of artificial intelligence across different sectors of public governance.
Looking ahead, the Group will continue its work by developing draft texts on AI related technical concepts relevant for human rights, and public governance areas such as law enforcement and public security, immigration and border control, education, and labour and employment. The next meeting of the CDDH-IA is scheduled for 1-3 April 2025.
