Human Rights and business
The Steering Committee for Human Rights (CDDH) has been entrusted by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe with the task of conducting work on the responsibility for violations of human rights committed by Companies.
Following the UN Guiding Principles for the implementation of the "Protect, Respect and Remedy" framework from 16th June 2011, the CDDH has elaborated the Declaration (16 April 2014) of the Committee of Ministers supporting the UN Guiding Principles adopted by the Committee of Ministers on 16th April 2014, as well as the Recommendation CM/Rec(2016)3 on Human Rights and Business, adopted by the Committee of Ministers on 2nd March 2016.
The activity was conducted from 2013 to 2016.
The CDDH organised a High-Level Seminar on this topic in June 2017.
