"The Consultative Council of European Judges (CCJE) is committed to the rule of law, both domestic and international. Following consultations with the Bureau, I would like to echo the recent statements issued by Council of Europe leaders and bodies, condemning in the strongest possible terms the unjustified military attack by the Russian Federation. In my capacity as President of the CCJE, and in line with its mandate, I would like to express my solidarity with the judiciary of Ukraine in such an unprecedented situation, and demand that nothing shall be done to undermine its functioning and independence. I invite member States to do all in their means to provide assistance and ensure the protection of all judges and their families in Ukraine."
Anke Eilers, President of the Consultative Council of European Judges, Council of Europe
