Continuation of training on Standard Operating Procedures in Cypriot courts

On 28-29 November 2023, the second training session for Cypriot registrars was successfully implemented. The training focused on designing and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) brought together registrars from all different courts in Cyprus. The participants get acquainted with the LEAN methodology and were trained in process mapping for development and proposal of additional SOPs in the future. Finally, the methodologies on training on SOPs use for registry staff were presented with the view of building capacities of future trainers in the national judiciary.

Overall, the training provided a framework for future and ongoing SOP development to support staff in performing their daily tasks in a more efficient and uniform approach across all registries. Finally, a centralised procedure to monitor, review and develop further SOPs was proposed for ensuring the sustainability and long-term results of this initiative.

The training session was supported by the TJENI project.

The project “Foster Transparency of Judicial Decisions and Enhancing the National Implementation of the ECHR” is implemented by the Council of Europe and funded by the EEA and Norway Grants fund for Regional Cooperation.
