The Council of Europe experts met with the representatives of the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Turkey and The Ombudsman Institution, which function as the national human rights monitoring mechanisms on 27 May 2020 via video conference in order to support the ongoing needs assessment studies within the Project on Supporting the Implementation and Reporting on the Action Plan on Human Rights. The meeting focused on the monitoring, reporting, enquiry and research activities conducted by these institutions within the context of freedom of expression, the right to person’s liberty and security and the right to a fair trial.
