The Working Group of the High Prosecutorial Council for drafting Draft Rulebook on Objection to the Annual Work Plan met in Belgrade with the support of the project "Support for the Implementation of Judicial Reform in Serbia". In line with the practice of the High Prosecutorial Council, the working group brought together members of the High Prosecutorial Council, public prosecutors from all four appellate prosecutors’ offices, representatives of the two prosecutorial associations, as well as civil society representatives as observers. Elena Jovanovska-Brezoska, Head of Southeast Europe Unit within Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law of Council of Europe, took part in the meeting of the Working Group and addressed the participants, highlighting efficient work on the bylaws.
A local Council of Europe expert presented a draft of the Rulebook prepared based on the new legal framework to the working group. The working group has finished work on the draft at its first meeting, defining the mandate, composition, and manner of work of the commission on objection, rights and duties of the member of the Commission. The Rulebook defined the manner of conducting sessions and exclusion of the public, as well as keeping records of the work of the Commission.
The project "Support for the Implementation of Judicial Reform in Serbia" project will continue to support the prosecutorial council in the further process of the reform implementation.
