Key stakeholders agreed on main priorities in anti-discrimination field in the Republic of Moldova

The first Meeting of the Technical Project Committee of the project “Combating discrimination, hate speech and hate crimes in the Republic of Moldova” was carried out with national stakeholders and partners, to exchange on priorities and activities, ensuring inclusive project governance.

The Technical Committee of the project is co-chaired by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova and the Council of Europe and comprises the representatives of Equality Council, General Police Inspectorate, People’s Advocate, National Institute of Justice, Agency for Inter-ethnic Relations, General Prosecutor’s Office, Audio-visual Council, relevant ministries, Parliamentary commissions in the field, and civil society organisations.

This meeting ensured the successful planning, synergies between the actors involved, as well as coordination and collaboration in the field. The committee members expressed their strong commitment to actively engage in project activities and continue supporting the joint actions to combat discrimination, hate speech and hate crimes in the Republic of Moldova. The importance of continuing and increasing cooperation and exchanges among all relevant actors was highlighted, for the ultimate goal of a better protection of victims of discrimination, especially those from vulnerable groups in the Republic of Moldova.

The meeting was organised in the framework of the project “Combating discrimination, hate speech and hate crimes in the Republic of Moldova”, part of the joint European Union and Council of Europe programme “Partnership for Good Governance”, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the Council of Europe.
