Visual ID PGIII - Project in Azerbaijan

This project promotes Council of Europe and international standards in the field of promoting equality and non-discrimination and contributes to the building of capacities of state authorities, civil society and all relevant actors to adapt domestic frameworks and practice with the international standards in this field.

The project started on 1 March 2023 and will be implemented until February 2026.

  • Through a combination of tailored policy/legislative, capacity-building and awareness raising actions.
What do we expect to achieve?
  • Increased capacities of the Ombudsperson's Office staff's to effectively protect human rights and freedoms;
  • Enhanced dialogue between the Ombudsperson and the civil society, as well as capacities of civil society organizations to work on promoting equality and a more diverse society;
  • Raised awareness of tolerance and non-discrimination standards among youth and the general public.
What is the budget of the project?
  • The total budget of the project is 220 000 Euros.
About the Partnership for Good Governance

The “Partnership for Good Governance” (PGG) is a joint initiative of the European Union and the Council of Europe for strengthening good governance in the Eastern Partnership region.

PGG provides tailor-made support to Eastern Partnership countries to bring their legislation and practice closer to European standards in the fields of human rights, rule of law and democracy. It supports, in particular, Eastern Partnership countries’ domestic reforms to strengthen justice, counter economic crime, promote equality and non-discrimination, advance women’s access to justice and combat violence against women.
