On 13-14 February the ICC will carry out an expert visit to Osmangazi (Turkey), one of the central metropolitan districts of the city of Bursa and eight largest municipality in Turkey.
A representative of the Council of Europe and two independent experts will meet city officials (including the Mayor of Osmangazi) as well as a wide range of local stakeholders in order to confirm Osmangazi’s INDEX results and make an in-depth "diagnosis" of the city's achievements and needs in relation to intercultural policies and governance.
The programme of the visit also includes a presentation of the Intercultural city concept to representatives of public authorities and civil society, visits to the Provincial Directorate of Immigration and to an information hub for migrant children, and a meeting with members of the Municipal Council.
The visit will further result in a report that will draw the “intercultural profile” of the city and which will be the basis of subsequent work.
