The coordinators of member cities of the international Intercultural Cities (ICC) network, together with the coordinators of national and regional ICC networks, will meet in-person in Bilbao (Spain), on 14-15 November 2023.
The yearly meeting of ICC coordinators aims to take stock of achievements, putting forward and discussing challenges and solutions, as well as at preparing the programme of work for the following year. Among the main strategic developments of this year, international members will hear about the work of the ICC Advisory Group and the proposed follow up to its two first meetings. Coordinators will also be asked to give feedback to the activities planned for 2024.
Other highlights will include a session on ICC intercultural competence resources and how to use them to develop a training, and the presentation of projects run by the city of Bilbao. These will include a visit to the neighbourhoods of San Francisco, Bilbao La Vieja and Zabala with the DIVERSITOURS project, which won the Eurocities Award 2023 earlier this year in the category “From human global mobility to local community cohesion”, and a presentation of the project “Recognition of migrant women and the Local Board of Immigration”.
Interpretation will be provided in English and French throughout the meeting.
