GREVIO held its 35th meeting

The Council of Europe's Group of Experts on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (GREVIO) held its 35th plenary meeting from 24 to 27 March 2025 in Strasbourg.

During this meeting, GREVIO adopted its report on the United Kingdom as part of the baseline evaluation round, as well as its report on Portugal as part of the first thematic evaluation round. These final reports will be sent to the authorities concerned and subsequently made public, together with any final comments received from the authorities on the day of their official publication.

GREVIO also approved its draft thematic evaluation reports on the Netherlands, France and Serbia. These draft reports will be submitted to the Parties concerned for comments before their final adoption.  GREVIO also adopted its 6th general activity report with a focus section discussing findings from its monitoring that highlight the shrinking space for women rights defenders, including those advocating for the right of women and girls to a life free from violence.

With a view to providing a holistic interpretation of the provisions of the Istanbul Convention in relation to preventing and combating gender-related killings of women, it adopted terms of reference for a working group on a second general recommendation focusing on this topic.
