On 4 November 2020, 60 lawyers from 16 regions in Ukraine attended the launch of the Access to Justice for Women course, by the Council of Europe’s European Programme for Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP). The Course is being conducted with support from the National Bar Association of Ukraine.
With this course, Ukrainian lawyers will increase their professional capacity to provide high quality support to victims of violence against women and domestic violence in their regions.
The first course of its kind for lawyers follows the successful completion of the HELP Access to Justice for Women course by 26 Ukrainian judges in August 2020.
The course is being implemented under the CoE project, The Istanbul Convention: a tool to advance in fighting violence against women and domestic violence in Ukraine, funded through the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine 2018-2021.
